Healthier Environment CSL recognises that responsible management and efficient use of natural resources are fundamental to sustainable growth and to the reliable supply of life-saving therapies. CSL’s key focus areas and the Company’s progress are outlined below. Further details on CSL’s Sustainability Strategy and its focus areas are outlined on page 24. This year, CSL continued its efforts aligned with the Company’s Healthier Environment focus areas and is pleased to report progress for reportable targets and commitments below. Energy (and emissions) During the reporting period, CSL continued to execute its transition plan and roadmap to achieving the Company’s FY2030 Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) reduction commitments, which realised a 28% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from a FY2021 base year, and a 17% reduction year-on-year, compared with last year. Ongoing benefits of the Australian sites’ Renewable-Linked Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) being in effect for the full 12-month period, has largely contributed to this reduction in Scope 2 electricity use GHG emissions. CSL has also continued its active engagement with suppliers that contribute to CSL’s Scope 3 emissions. To date, 64% of CSL’s suppliers by emissions covering specific Scope 3 categories have self-reported to have Scope 1 and 2 SBTi-aligned targets. Scope 3 CSL has elected to voluntarily disclose its total Scope 3 emissions this year, one year ahead of mandatory requirements under the Australian Accounting Standards Boards S2 (Climate-related disclosures). Like many organisations, CSL recognises the difficulty of collecting data for Scope 3 emissions across our value chain. Progress on CSL’s commitments Progress Focus area Commitment by FY2030 FY2026 FY2025 Energy Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% (from a FY2021 base year). 28% reduction on baseline 14% reduction on baseline 73.1% of CSL’s suppliers by emissions covering Scope 3 categories: purchased goods and services, capital goods, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel, and downstream transportation and distribution will have science-based targets. 64%1 54% Water Achieve 0% absolute growth in water use, from a FY2021 baseline at three priority manufacturing sites – Kankakee (US), Broadmeadows and Tullamarine (Australia) – which are in regions forecast to be water-stressed by 2030. 32% growth 30% growth Waste Divert more than 90% of manufacturing waste from landfill, ie, ‘zero waste’2 at all manufacturing sites. 87% 89% Reduce percentage of waste to landfill year-on-year at plasma collection centres. 76% 74% Minimise percentage of waste incinerated (if site is already zero waste). 15% 15% Biodiversity Address any significant biodiversity impacts at manufacturing sites, resulting from biodiversity impact assessments complete. Refer to page 36 for details n/a3 Source 100% of all paper and fibreboard for product packaging from certified sustainable forestry. 100%4 n/a3 1. For FY2026 this is the percentage of suppliers in Scope 3 categories 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 with targets. This aligns to the target coverage approved by SBTi in May 2025. 2. Zero waste is defined as less than 10% of total waste to landfill. 3. This commitment was announced at the end of FY2025; no comparative information is available. 4. In validating this claim from suppliers, CSL obtained proof of FSC/PEFC certification in the form of certificates. This disclosure relates only to paper-based packaging used directly in CSL’s manufacturing operations and excludes packaging activities carried out by contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs) on CSL’s behalf. 34 Healthier World
